Clean Water – Help Me Provide the Basics

In the short time I’ve been on the bench, I’ve seen quite a few Special Juvenile Immigration Status cases come before me. These cases allow the court to grant custody, to a sponsoring family member, over juveniles who wish to remain in the United States. Immediately thereafter, special immigration status is provided to these children. Such status gets the children a step closer to permanent legal residency.

The children and their families, who are the subject of these procedures. seek refuge here for a variety of reasons. Some have been threatened by gangs and/or victims of abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. Often times there is also testimony regarding a variety of underlying poor living conditions.

While I certainly play a part in the betterment of the lives of these families, I am often left wishing I could do more. Well, as fate would have it, last Sunday, my church announced their partnership with “6K for Water”. A walk/run event that would help provide clean water to children around the world.

Without hesitation, I thought “I’m in” and registered right away. The event will be held on May 4th, I will be sponsoring 13 year old Dieu of the Democratic Republic of Congo and I hope I can garner your support. If so, here’s a quick link to my page where you can make a donation: https://www.teamworldvision.org/participant/ShaRon-Kelsey. I encourage you to contribute towards this worthy cause, keeping in mind that no contribution is too small!!! Thanks in advance as I serve not only at home, but across the globe as well. Of course, as always, I remain….

Honorably Yours, ShaRon M. Kelsey
